Suspicious Activity: Better explanation/justification needed for issues #321 #309 #325

I recently became aware of these issues via this thread on reddit:

  1. How and why is a user email being auto-detected?

  2. Why are model downloads associated with Baidu Netdisk?

If the user is accurate in their telling of events, Baidu Netdisk's practices are suspect and at best anti-consumer.

I don't think what you mentioned above is a problem. The answer is as follows:

1.How and why is a user email being auto-detected?

I believe it is a misunderstanding, ComfyUI_LayerStyle never reads users' email information. If you download and update plugins through Git, you may need to set up email account in Git, which has nothing to do with ComfyUI_LayerStyle. ComfyUI_LayerStyle is an open-source project where all code can be publicly and traced. If you find any code that violates user privacy or other illegal open source agreements, please feel free to list them.

2.Why are model downloads associated with Baidu Netdisk?

Baidu Netdisk is a Chinese network cloud storage host supplier, and many Chinese users are using it, just like Google Drive in the United States. In order to facilitate the use of ComfyUI_LayerStyle by users in China, I purchased its membership and placed some model files on it. Perhaps there are some issues with the Baidu Netdisk client software, but I believe this is a problem with Baidu company rather than my personal reasons. ComfyUI_LayerStyle provides multiple model download links at each node in the readme documentation, and you can choose other links to download the model files. If Baidu Netdisk has caused you any inconvenience, I hope you can ignore it.

I accept and agree with your answers to the posted issues.

Hopefully you can accept and understand the over-precaution, given the historical issue with the infamous 'Comfyui_LLMvision' Custom Nodes.

Could you please put the models on google drive or something. Baidu netdisk keeps trying to install an .exe file. I'm not going to do that. Thanks.

My Google Drive space is full and my account cannot be recharged from China. I am trying to upload the file to huggingface. co
