I would love to follow the behaviour of Obsidian default quick switcher when selecting notes to append in QuickAdd.
Current behaviour:
Defaults to Scripts folder
After typing, top selected item is to select a Note that doesn't exist. The "Example" in image below is a note that doesn't exist. This is true even when you have disabled "Create note if it doesn't exist".
Desired behaviour:
When typing to search for a note, default selection to most relevant note so you can just press enter immediately.
Only once you type text that doesn't match any note, offer to create a new note.
Additional features that are less critical but great UX which come from Quick Switcher would be:
Respect excluded files
Show files based on recency (either from QuickAdd Append, or from Obsidian recent files)
Have a button to create a new note based on text input if you want to have a new note immediately
