KML option to disable Fade in of Placemark icons #340

Which products are relevant to this feature request?
Google Earth, Google Earth Plugin

What should this feature enhancement do?

Placemark icons now "fade in" start small, increase in size to larger than the
static size of the
icon then settle back to the static size. They "fade out" when they go out of
time scope. I'm
using color mapped icons to represent a data time series. The "fading" as the
icons go in and
out of time scope makes for an extremely busy display which distracts from the
purpose of the
display. The feature that I'm requesting would disable this animation,
probably in a style applied
to a placemark.

Are there any currently known workarounds that produce the same, or
similar, result?

The GE plugin has a new method GEOptions.setFadeInOutEnabled(bool) that
accomplishes this,
but does not work in static KML files

I want to be able to use icon scaling to represent magnitude during a time
series
representation of wind speed. The addition of the icon fade-in feature really
messed this capability up.
