Spaces in KMZ file path prevent images in KMZ files from loading #351

KMZ files that reference images used in balloons are unable to load those 
images if the kmz file is saved in a location where a space is in the file path

Example: 
the kmz file will load fine, and images appear in balloons if saved as:
C:\myDocs\myDownloads\someFile.kmz

the balloons will fail to load the images if the path is:
C:\myDocs\my Downloads\someFile.kmz
or
C:\my Docs\myDownloads\someFile.kmz
or
C:\myDocs\myDownloads\some File.kmz

I'm using win7 64 bit, 

"About Google Earth" I am showing: 5.2.1.1329 (beta)

This is a major issue considering any windows users downloading kmz files to 
"my Documents" or "My Downloads" will break the kmz files

recently tested with 

Google Earth
5.2.1.1547
Build Date
Jul 30, 2010

and the problem still exists

This issue was acknowledged by the Earth Product manager here:

Unfortunately it is still present in 5.2.1.1588, Build Date Sep 1, 2010.
