Root password for SSH on raspberrypi #308

Closed meirion closed 2 years ago

Very simple.. trying to login to SSH on my raspberry pi.

I have no idea of the root un/pw combo.

I have search the wiki and the Issues to no avail. tried: pi/raspberry PICOBREW/picobrew PICOBREW/PICOBREW none of these let me in.

can someone let me know what SSH creds to use please, thanks.

the standard user is pi/raspberry (you'd have to set the root password after logging in, and if trying to SSH, you'd need to allow root to log in). Try hooking a monitor up to the pi and see if you can access the device, you might not be connecting to the pi. Also - please only make one issue for troubleshooting. Odds are in your other issue, you have a git conflict so the application probably isnt loading (you'll be able to see it if you get console access)

Thanks for getting back to me

OK I assume I must have changed the root pwd previously and now forgotten it!

Sadly I don't have a micro-HDMI cable so I can't plug the pi into a monitor.

In light of both issues, I think I will just re-flash the SD card with a new image and set up from fresh. Any problems you can see with me doing that?

Sorry about multiple posts, I'd thought you'd need issues captured separately. Will combine in future. Thanks!

Before starting from a new image grab anything sessions/recipes you want to save from the Samba or with an SD card reader.

Also, if you start from a new image see if you have the same issue I reported in #303.
