This is maybe a dumb question but never know. Did you check if the IP address
of your PS3 listed in you router status matches with that shown in the screen?

Is the machine directly connected in the same switch/hub (same subnet
basically)? And are you sure there is no firewall blocking port 2002?
For testing I would temporarily disable the firewall on the XP machine and see
if that works..

Yes, the same switch/hub and same subnet. I closed the firewall on local PC and
the HUB too.
PS: I can do ping and ftp to PS3.

For this bug I really have no idea where to start looking, as I've had no
similar reports from other users running Win XP.
Could you check if the port can be opened using or a telnet command or perhaps
check with a portscanner to see if port 2002 can really be opened from the Win
XP machine?

I use Advanced Port Scanner to check Daemon server, port 2002 is not found.
When running FTP server on PS3, scanner can see port 21.

Ok, that's good information. So there is still something blocking that port..
What about a virusscanner? Do you run one? It could be blocking port 2002..
Please double check your XP environment or run a new XP installation in VMWare
and check again..

I have the same problem. I use a standard 4port LAN with no "modifications" and
my WinXP SP3 machine has NO firewall and NO Antivirus - even the standard
Windows firewall is completely deactivated...

Now, port scanner can find the port 2002, but i still get the same error
message. I try to modify the code replaced by port 80(and 90), then recompile
to make pkg, it has the same problem.

I will install & run a Windows XP SP3 machine in a virtual machine to see if I
can replicate this issue..

I also have this issue.
I can see the port open through port scanner and I can connect through telnet.
sacd_extract however reports that it cannot open the address for reading
firewall and antivirus completely disabled.
(I know it does not help much, but I have winxp sp2)
Also trying with -P to just get the info also fails (which probably also does
not help much)
For the time being I will stick with ripping to an external hard disk directly.
