Hi Emily, Eileen, and Kevin:
I'm Cyrus, a digital content strategist, govie, and first-generation American interested in getting involved with @tweechable!
Hi Eileen and everyone,
I spoke with you last week at ChiHackNight about helping out where possible on this Tweechable Moments app. I'm afraid I am unable to attend ChiHackNight this evening, but wanted to check if there is anything I can help out on at some point during the week remotely?
I'm a beginner level Ruby/Rails user, a few weeks out of the Dev Bootcamp program.
Btw, I'm on the ChiHackNight Slack channel, but didn't see a separate Tweechable channel.
Alex
HI @alexstevenson19! Thanks for checking back in with us. If you're looking for programming work to do, I would recommend checking out the issues. Also, @kevinpuj tonight noted that this is a collaborative project, and if you want it to go in another direction, feel free to open your own issue and get cracking on it. Check back in with any questions.
Lastly, there is a channel, it's #tweechable-moments.
Hi my name is Nicholas Ermolov. Also please add @cmorcom
Btw for anyone new to Tweechable who wants to check out what tasks are available, or the work we have done already, our GitHub is here!
Hey all,
At the last Hack Night, my group and I discussed some UX ideas. I have a cold so I won't be able to swing by tonight, but I whipped something up to illustrate the concepts we touched on. I uploaded it to this url temporarily:

Best, Raul
I'm an interpreter for the National Immigrant Justice Center and I notice that there isn't a lot of copy for the immigration topic!
I love your project and I'd like to support your work. Please let me know if I can be of service to you.
Best, Cyrus

Hi Cyrus,
Thanks for your enthusiasm! We'd welcome the contribution. Please see this Google doc https://docs.google.com/document/d/1B-QgFq63oj_wjHIuVmpxxL0vTzKXApdkmhgGR0mRsbw/edit?usp=sharing for some basic guidelines on creating content.
You can also connect with me any tuesday night, or post in our slack channel, to ask about ideas.
Thanks,
Kevin

This group hasn't met in a while. Is it still active, or should we close for now?
Hi @derekeder, we have continued to work on Tweechable, however, we haven't been pitching because we are focused on hitting MVP (we're almost there!) before we begin actively recruiting new members again. We are going to start pitching again once we hit MVP. Since our group is still active, I would like to leave this issue open.
Ok. Do you plan on pitching next week? If yes, we can keep it open. Otherwise, let's close it for now and re-open when you're ready to recruit again.
Fine by me.

Tweechable is back! Reopening
Hi, I already posted this in our group slack, but I also wanted to post here that I'm removing from our repo any collaborators who haven't accepted the invite or who haven't been in contact in six months. If you'd like to get added back as a collaborator, please let me know!
Tweechable is transitioning out of Chi Hack Night. If you're interested in staying involved, please join our new slack channel and check out our repo.
Nice! & congrats!
About the group
Sometimes, people ask ignorant questions on twitter. Though they may not intend to do harm, and many of us may have asked such questions ourselves on or off twitter, such comments still cause damage.
Furthermore, members of marginalized groups who are in the public eye, like activists or journalists, are the most likely to receive such insensitive, hurtful comments. Tweechable Moments seeks to support such folks by offering them automated responses to uninformed comments, which can be called into the conversation with hashtags like #NotAMeritocracy. Follow us at @tweechable!
Group leaders
Whom we're looking for
If you have experience with online microaggressions or ignorance and would be comfortable discussing it with us or using tweechable, we'd love to talk to you! (We know it can be difficult to discuss such topics with strangers.) We'd also like to work with people who have writing experience or background creating accessible, educational content. Ruby on Rails gurus are welcome! 😺
