UChicago's Consortium on School Research recently released a study citing that attendance and GPA and the two most predictive measures of success to and through college. CPS' current data tools do not provide an easy way for students to see trends in those metrics let along a way to see their OnTrack rating.
This Django app - currently being built for Cesar Chavez MAC, consumes CSV files, and allows students to see their GPA and Attendance over time and their OnTrack rating. It also plugs their grades, and national test scores into CPS' high school admittance algorithm so that students understand which high schools they are eligible for.
Eventually we hope this tool allows students to understand how they can improve their habits and mindsets in order to be ready for a top high school.
This project is currently on a Django stack
