List of Homework before communication workshop

In preparation of the workshop, all of you have a bit of homework. Just 9 things – easy!

1. Go thru any psychology 101 training online (something like link). Of particular interest are topics: Emotions, personality profiles, motivation, power, social behaviour and logical thinking
2. Understand the Why, What and How model (sample link)
3. Read up / research "Lean Startup” philosophy"
4. Look up online and learn body language basics
5. Read “Getting to yes”
6. Give a public speech of 5 to 10 mins, example a toastmasters setting, bring your recording
7. Email to a Cabinet Minister: For a topic that bothers you, write an email, using your personal email id, to a cabinet minister under Primeminister Modi or a Chief Minister of any state o Email should identify a problem concerning their ministry and explain how that problem affects you on a personal level and the society at large o Benefit of fixing the problem, cost of not addressing it + An example resolution o A clear call to action o Pls fwd that email to me after sending it for evaluation
8. Take the most complex technical/scientific topic you know and write a blog, explaining that topic to a 8 year old, forward me the link
9. Understand the Art of Storytelling (sample link) To reiterate, effective communication is not fancy language, sophisticated syntax or eloquence. Its simply the ability o connect with your audience and get your message across, while being yourself.
