Request SonaType account for publishing projects to Maven #85

Open sequencer opened 2 years ago

sequencer commented 2 years ago

In last TSC meeting, we decide to apply a SonaType account for publishing Scala/Java to community. https://github.com/chipsalliance/api-config-chipsalliance https://github.com/chipsalliance/diplomacy are blocked by this for serval months. Hope we can get this done as soon as possible to speed up the chisel-related project publishing flow!

Thanks, yes, I'm sorry for the delay, there's some backend legal work to be done. I'm following up and will get this taken care of as quickly as I can.

thanks! If there are any thing I can help, please directly comment! I’m willing to giving any technical help(sonatype setup, dns authorization or related stuff). Hope we can get this done smoothly!

sequencer commented 2 years ago

Hi, @brianwarner any progress on this? ;p

sequencer commented 2 years ago

Happy Thanksgiving!!! Hoping we can resolve this before Christmas :)

In today's TSC meeting, @robmains says he will follow on this issue, Thanks @robmains for his help! I have experimentally setup this with my own domain, it's simple and easy, I can provide a technical support if there is any need here. Here is my follow:

  1. Sign up an account at https://issues.sonatype.org/secure/Signup!default.jspa
  2. here is the example page I found in Google: image image group id will be org.chipsalliance
  3. waiting for approve.
  4. After getting approved by Sonatype, an account and password will be received. for example: I used here to publish our project. I think the account and password can be transfer to @hcook for helping Scala/Java and other possible projects setting up their publishing flow.

Hi, sorry for the delay, for a variety of reasons we actually have to set up a separate legal entity for this. I got confirmation from legal yesterday that it's in progress, but it takes a bit more than just signing up. Please hold off doing anything until I'm able to report back.

Thank you! @brianwarner

Hi, reporting back that the account is configured and should be ready to go. The namespace is org.chipsalliance.

I'm looking on the site to see if it's possible to grant access to other users. I'm not seeing it at the moment, so @hcook, would you like me to share the credentials with you directly?

sequencer commented 2 years ago

Thank you! @brianwarner I think @hcook or @jackkoenig can be good persons to mange those credentials.

hcook commented 2 years ago

@brianwarner Yes if you could share them with me and @jackkoenig I think that would work well

brianwarner commented 2 years ago

Sounds good, just shared them with you both.
