Advanced RMarkdown documentation/examples for Word docx #33

My organization relies a lot on Microsoft Word and its "track changes" functionality, so knitting to docx from RMarkdown is a major chunk of my workflow for our automated/reproducible reports, which is more finicky and less well documented/fleshed out than html or pdf. There are a bunch of tricks I've picked up from disparate Stack Overflow posts and documentation sources, and I'm sure there are more I haven't found/needed yet. I'd love to get those all in one place and easily accessible for people/organizations in similar situations, who want to do reproducible reporting but are dependent on Microsoft tools

R users all around the corporate world shall rejoice! Love this idea. Do you ever turn R presentations into PPT files too?

skpurdue commented 4 years ago

I haven't, but that sounds like it would be a great thing to add! If you have experience and advice to share, I'd be interested!

this sounds great!! the amount of time i've spent futzing with the styling in a Word document template... it would be awesome to have all of this advice collected!

Not sure how relevant it'll be, but there is also redoc for two way rmarkdown <-> word workflow

I have! And it sounds like it would be incredibly helpful, but unfortunately, we can’t use any non-CRAN packages at work because of security concerns, even as much as I would love to. But for people who can, I think it’d be a great thing to tack in/reference to give people the option if they have fewer organization-based restrictions!

ack shoot, I didn't realize it's not on CRAN! someday...

How about moving redoc closer to CRAN submission?
