Which products are affected?

Google Earth

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create and launch a KML file that uses the namespace 
xmlns:xal="urn:oasis:names:tc:ciq:xsdschema:xAL:2.0" and contains a 
NetworkLinkControl that performs an Update on another KML file.

2. The NetworkLinkControl will not update the other KML file unless the 
previously mentioned namespace is removed.

What is the expected output or behavior? What do you see instead?

The NetworkLinkControl should update the other KML file without removing the 
namespace.

What application versions (if any) are you using?

5.1 and 5.2

Which operating systems (and/or relevant web browsers) are affected?

Windows XP 32-bit

Please provide any additional information (code snippets/links) below.

Please see the attached file for the code snippet.  If the previously mentioned 
namespace is removed, then the other KML file is Updated correctly.

I'd just like to add that I was using the Pro version of Google Earth 5.2 and 
the non-Pro version of Google Earth 5.1.

Error still exists on
GE 6.0.1.2032 (beta) and
Microsoft Windows (6.1.7601.1)

I have the same issue.

I've created some examples. Have a look at the working example KMLs:

compared to:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/392709/KML%20Issue/fails/Point-load.kml

the only difference is the namespace definitions in the kml element

Any resolution on this issue?  I get the same result with GE 6.0.3.

I just tested my example KMLs and it appears to be working now in Google Earth 
6.1.0.5001
