Fading for dimmed windows #209

It would be nice to have the same fading effects on dimmed windows as on opacity changes.

Perhaps it's possible to extend the whole concept to three classes of color manipulations:

And have the same options for all these classes:

I'm sorry for the very late reply... Was really busy these days...

It would be nice to have the same fading effects on dimmed windows as on opacity changes.

Sorry, I'm not really sure about what this means. Could you please give some further explanations?

By the way, presently, the level of dim is adjusted based on window opacity, so for example, when you use --inactive-dim 0.3, a 100% opaque window will have 30% dim, while a 50% opaque one will get 15% dim. (Unless you enable --inactive-dim-fixed). So during fading, a window's dim level is reduced as opacity reduces.

Perhaps it's possible to extend the whole concept to three classes of color manipulations: ... And have the same options for all these classes: ...

Eeeh, wouldn't that sound too complicated? Could you please give an example on how such design might be useful for?

And, by the way, due to some personal reasons (schedule filled with all sorts of annoying things...), I'm not much actively implementing new features recently.

I think what you're looking for is inactive-opacity, it seems to do what you're describing.
