12 months ago I had the same issue finding maintained versions of tvhproxy. A clone of it exists under https://github.com/jfarseneau/antennas ; however this one hasn't been maintained for over a year as well.
At this point, either someone picks up from where they left off or it's basically unmaintained and will have issues with future updates (and likely current ones).
Sadly, I'm not aware of any alternatives that exist for tvheadend. I would suggest looking into xTeVe, but I had issues with finding a maintained version of this program as well unfortunately. There's not a lot of developer interest in providing tuner support for Plex anymore with all the legal implications.
One currently maintained clone of xTeVe is called Threadfin, if you would like to try this, it will be your best bet.

I only discovered this version/fork of tvhProxy after installing the "original one" from jkaberg.
I have installed it on a machine that runs both Plex media server & TVHeadEnd, with the intent of making TVHE the "tuning back-end" of Plex.
Long story short, things aren't working quite right yet and methinks the solution would be to replace the "old" version of tvhProxy with this one (I am trying the "low-hanging fruits" at first). But I am not a Python jockey and am not sure how to proceed, i.e., how to remove the old version before installing the new one.
Can you help? Thanks in advance.
