Die Hard

Twelve terrorists. One cop. The odds are against John McClane... That's just the way he likes it.

NYPD cop John McClane's plan to reconcile with his estranged wife is thrown for a serious loop when, minutes after he arrives at her office, the entire building is overtaken by a group of terrorists. With little help from the LAPD, wisecracking McClane sets out to single-handedly rescue the hostages and bring the bad guys down.

Triggers - addiction: Cocaine use - drug use: In the very beginning a character is shown snorting drugs for a split second before trying to hide it, although it is easy to miss. - teeth damage - finger or toe mutilation: Someone walks on broken glass while barefoot. They are shown cleaning their wounds afterwards. - people being burned alive: There is an explosion in the middle of the film, implied to have killed two people. There is also a scene where four or five people burn inside of a car offscreen. - hangings: During a brutal round of fisticuffs, a main character strings up a terrorist motionless on a chain line. The terrorist survives and appears later in the film. - shaving or cutting - asphyxiation - choking: A man is hanged, although he survives. - bones breaking: Neck broken, man falls to death, etc. - falling deaths: At the very end, the aftermath is not shown but there is a close-up on the character's face as they fall. - falling down stairs - parents dying: A man who is said to be a father is killed onscreen, though his children are never shown. There are multiple parents and a pregnant woman put through trauma over the course of the film, however. - kidnapping: A woman is kidnapped by the main villain and dragged to another floor of the building. It is unclear what his plan is after that, however. - farting or spitting - copaganda: Yes, absolutely. The entire movie is copaganda! There's a scene where a cop mentions an accidental murder he committed, but most of the movie centers around heroic cops and everyone else is either helpless or getting in the way. - claustrophobic scenes: A lot of the movie takes place in ventilation shafts. - flashing lights or images: There are flashing lights at many points in the movie, such as muzzle flare from machine guns. The two times you see something resembling a hockey puck, be aware that you are about to see a big flash of light. When the terrorists first take over the building there are a few mins of various flashing lights such as electrical sparks. There are regularly flashing lights on the roof, beware any roof scene. There are several explosions. One is when John sends an office chair and a computer monitor down an elevator shaft. Another is when John is about to jump off the roof with the fire hose. To be honest, it's pretty bright for a few mins after he jumps. - obscene language/gestures - fat jokes: Unfortunately... - nude scenes: Half nude people and posters - sexual content: A couple is taken away by terrorists in the middle of having sex. - car honk / tire screech: a character drives a car backward very fast and its tires screech as he makes hard turns etc - car crashes: There is an intense scene that ends in a car crash. - people getting hit by cars - planes crashing: A helicopter does - gun violence: A lot of it. - blood or gore: Graphic execution of a man by pistol. Various scenes of bloody action violence, sometimes in slow motion.
