Triggers
- gaslighting: A main character is in an abusive relationship, so most likely experiences gaslighting
- domestic violence: The husband threatens to beat his wife, spits at her, ties her up and drags her around with him against her will, controls her every moment and when she can see her son and even shoots her.
- restraints
- torture: The main character is tied to a chair and teeth are pulled out. You don’t see it happen exactly as a train goes past and blocks the view but you do hear the character scream.
- teeth damage: But you don't actually see it because the camera turns away
- choking: When the characters are moving in reverse it is hard to breathe so they must wear an oxygen mask.
- bones breaking
- self-sacrifice
- parents dying: Technically he's a parent but he's also one of the bad guys
- kidnapping: The antagonist takes his wife with him against her will, tying her hands together etc.
- jumpscares: The main character is hiding whilst spying on the antagonist. One of the antagonist’s men finds him and grabs his shoulder unexpectedly.
- audio gore
- farting or spitting: Guy spits on a woman after he beat her.
- hospital scenes: A woman is shot and gets treatment. Whilst not technically in a hospital, there is hospital equipment etc.
- cancer: SPOILER;
The antagonist is revealed to be dying of pancreatic cancer
- needles or syringes are used: Woman is shot and has an injection as part of her treatment.
- suicide attempts
- PTSD: A woman cannot come to terms with how she nearly gave up her child for freedom.
- claustrophobic scenes: There are a couple of sequences in the beginning (opera house) in which some characters move through a narrow, curved, windowless corridor. It was triggering for me; I even feel slightly sick thinking about it. Also, at some point towards the end, just after some characters enter a slanted tunnel that leads to an underground complex, there's an explosion which turns the entrance into rubble behind them.
- shaky cam: Not typical shaky cam, but action scenes in reverse triggered my nausea to a degree that I couldn't watch even though it looked cool and I wanted to see what was happening
- car crashes: There is a car chase scene. A car flips over during this.
- car honk / tire screech: Plenty of car chases and a scene where a car skids away
- planes crashing: Not from the sky though. A cargo plane is intentionally driven into a building.
- gun violence: Guns are used throughout the film.
- blood or gore: There is a lot of fighting with guns. Characters are shot and tortured at one point. Another is shot and dragged off a boat, being pushed into water.
- nuclear explosions: Not exactly, but there are the remains of one.
- drownings: A character almost drowns at one point and later is shot and pushed off a boat into the water below, so it’s unknown whether they drown or die of their wounds.
Tenet
Time runs out.
