Processing Breakdown #110

Seems like something has gone awry during the day today. I've been unable to get the filler hippo text to process. And Rosemary Feal has reported dropping in some text and having the machine run a lot of stop-words:

rgfeal: @sleonchnm Ooof: @serendipomatic ran with "the, of, a, and, to, i, is, that, it, her, poems, you, for, at, on"

@rlskoeser @mialondon I'm sorry I can't be more specific here, but I'm a little out of my league.

As of right now, www.serendipomatic.org hangs forever at the processing step for both text and Zotero.

I can confirm this as well

edit: it looks like I just had a dropped connection, the dev server is working

rlskoeser commented 10 years ago

there were some io errors in the apache logs, not sure if there is anything up with the server -- but the bigger issue is that, as far as I can tell, the europeana query is timing out. I've temporarily disabled that query for now as a quick fix. I'll try to see if I can't whip out some quick timeout logic tomorrow.

error message also looks like stop words aren't being filtered correctly, which is strange. (separate issue?)

I encountered the problem once before I left Fairfax, but it seems to be working for me now (from somewhere above New Mexico).

Aha! When I made the quick update this morning at breakfast I forgot to switch the bibs library to our forked copy that uses the official europeana servers instead of their preview/dev servers (whoops).

I just made the update on the production server and re-enabled europeana content. Looks like it's working much better now.

If one or two others can confirm, then someone feel free to close this ticket.

Looks like we're getting Europeana content. Per Rebecca, I won't close the issue until at least one other person confirms.

I can also confirm getting europeana and not seeing stopwords in results
