We definitely should be doing that! I'm assuming this would best go in the "Connect" section, under a main heading like, "Get your Serendip-o-matic swag," or, alternatively, as a subheading under "Contribute to Serendip-o-matic" (since that's what they'd be doing, financially speaking) like "Want to purchase Serendip-o-matic swag?" I'm happy to play around with some language on this and add the appropriate link, if folks can weigh in on where they think it would best fit.

I like those. Do you envision it as a main heading or a subheading?
There could be a main heading on Connect that says "Show your love..." w/ 2 subheads:

Good, yes, very good. Who is tweeting for the hippo, by the way?
What about a link right beneath Zotero box on homepage? Too commercial looking? If it goes on the Connect page I think it might need a heading of its own, perhaps something like "Swag, anyone?" Maybe follow that with Amy's language or an enhanced version thereof. ... I'm glad summer continues. Don't throw in the towel just yet! I've been trying to eke out a bit more sun/fun myself before reality sets in on Monday.
I'm going to follow Amy and Ray by putting links on both pages. Look for that on the dev server later today. Then people can comment to get the look and language right.

The suggested changes have now hit the dev server, if people care to comment.
Wow! Both the homepage and Connect page look awesome, Scott. Thank you. If we're voting, I give a slight edge to Connect.
No problem. I also wondered if this material should go in the footer. Another idea: make them both buttons with the text inside (what Twitter wants you to do with their Follow button). I just did the simplest thing I could to get discussion going.

I also prefer the Connect page... Not a huge fan of having the Twitter / CafePress icons on the homepage.
I probably can't get to it for this round of changes (you mean I have to TEACH next week?), but it might be nice to have some custom icons for the Twitter / CafePress links. Maybe an icon of the Serendhippo (_T_he Serendhippo?) and a T-shirt icon? But I think this is fine for now, best to have this info there.
Thanks for doing this, Scott!

Nice one, guys! I'd vote for the Connect page or footer too.
I love 'Show your love!', and I'd go further and say that 'contribute' and 'improve' both fall under that heading.
$91.74 in sales as of this afternoon, which means about $9 for RRCHNM. I had set the global markup at 5%, but it looks like CafePress moved it back to the default of 10%. Because the site is a bit buggy, as @fontnerd might attest, I think I'll just leave it as is, even though things seem a bit pricey. ... Got myself a couple hippo shirts. Again, outstanding work, Amy.
No other responses on Twitter/CafePress links. I'm taking it as consensus that they shouldn't be on the front page, so I'll remove them. If people have ideas about the appearance of the links, please weigh in.
I think we're good. Thanks Scott!
Might be a good idea to promote the CafePress store via the site somewhere. Not sure whose responsibility/ decision this is so suggesting/ assigning it to a PM...@rpalin, @JackDougherty, @amrys as well
