I can't reproduce this. I was able to change dates of THATCamps and the changes were reflected on the front page. Can you give more details please?

Sorry, should have given you an example. This is the case for (at least) two THATCamps: THATCamp Ghent 2013 (whose date is set to 5/28 in Setup but displays as 5/27 on the home page), and THATCamp CHNM 2013, whose date is set to 6/7 in Setup but appears as 6/6 on the home page. I even got someone else to visit thatcamp.org to confirm that it's not a caching issue on my machine: they too saw the wrong dates. I also logged in as 'testing' user to make sure that another user saw the date in Setup the same way I do. Again, I can't reproduce it on the dev server, either: only on production.
Note that for both of the above examples, the displayed date is the date that was originally set: it's changing the date that doesn't seem to stick.
OK, this should be fixed now.
There are a number of factors combining to cause the issue:
Give it a test and see if it's behaving as expected. (And don't forget to clear the WP Super Cache cache between tests.)

Awesome, thanks! Dammit, I knew it was a caching issue. Will remember to clear that Super Cache when testing from now on. FYI, the site is still in maintenance mode, so I can't test. Unless that's cached too.
Although now that I think of it I did clear the WP Super Cache last night when testing this, but that was just before all of my admin screens went white. At which point my priorities changed, and shortly after which I thought with longing of those idyllic days when I used to explain iambs and trochees to undergrads.
