Would be nice right? Yeah, we need the client to understand when it can't reach the server... I think it says right now that the site is unreachable in debug output?
Ouch, due to lack of oxygen, I forgot to check debug.
Maybe a problem where the chocolatey site is unreachable can have a friendly (non-debug) message letting the user know that there are no permanent errors in what he is doing, just "try again later."
"Sorry, the chocolatey gods cannot be reached right now. Please try again in a few moments." :poop:
PS - The :poop: was a joke, not a flame. I have this emoji in my head now that I found out there's actually a URL called:
(In some browsers you actually see the :poop: in the addressbar)
@Redsandro I know you well enough now to know you almost always are in jest. :)
PS - The :poop: was a joke, not a flame.
Should have said: PS - The :poop: was a joke, not a defecation.
cinst
is saying stuff likeUnable to find package 'speccy'.
You can check for errors, try different packages, doubt yourself and finally visit Chocolatey.org, you'll notice that "Chocolatey is down for maintenance. We should be back in a few moments."I think that
chocolatey
(the app) could say the same. It would prevent users from blaming everything else, up to and including the internet and yo mamma.
