Remaining fixes that were discovered while working on Serrano.

Want to check against the travis test runner quick.

Thanks @sgithens! Can you include the sign-off so the tests can run? Also while you are changing the commit message, do you mind separating the commit subject and message. The subject should be short and the message be as long as you want. It makes it a bit easier to read at least when it is displayed on GitHub.

Hi @bruth ! Yes, will rewrite those messages a bit later today after the days meetings... hopefully also put up pulls for the other repos.
