Hi.

I am happy to try and help as this problem bothers me too. I hate sorting through all the no name listings trying to find a real brand.

Is there thoughts on an exclusion list as well as the whitelist? So we can all contribute and build up a community list of bad brands?

I'd happily spend time adding the KAIWEETS and HONGYTIME and other ridiculous non-brands.

I'm not totally against it but I also don't know how useful it would be.

The current system would already filter out the examples you gave. It just filters, ya know, a lot more too. If you want to create a new file block.txt with brands you want to exclude I can actually code it in. I'm just not sure it'll help much.

TBH I realized what you said after I commented...

I think my initial worry was:

If a brand is not on the whitelist, and I want it... how would I know if it is being hidden, only because it's not whitelisted yet.

Yeah it's a real concern for me. Right now the easy solution there is to leave the "Also Brands in Sidebar" option unchecked.

In that way you'll see the brands whether they're hidden or not. If you select one of those the addon will not filter that page unless you enable the option (which I'm honestly thinking about removing.)

One thing I want to do that I think will help here is so show a list of all the filtered brands in the popup. And also maybe put a carrot or something on the page somewhere to remind users that the filter is happening.

Also currently there is a momentary delay where everything shows up before getting hidden. I'm not sure how to or if that can be improved.
