Technically illiterate people want to be able to use their computer fluently. The myriad of technical options and design issues on platforms such as Windows makes it difficult for them to do this. This project will act as a kind of local IT help (Windows has some built-in help functions, but they're not so great). Basically, users can type in natural language commands, and the project will interpret those commands and give them several options. The user then selects an option, and the project will automatically guide them through that task.
Another way of looking at it, is that this program basically serves as an intelligent Stack Overflow search (which is how most IT people solve problems anyway).
