Memory Panic error after post install #34

Closed roto31 closed 4 years ago

roto31 commented 4 years ago

I was able to install Catalina using this method to create a USB drive. The issue I am now running into now after the post install, is when running in verbose mode it stops after the first stage of starting up and ends with:

" In Memory Panic Stackshot Succeeded Bytes Traced 10800 ** Attempting system restart MACH Reboot

The above is not an error message I have not saw before. Thoughts?

You may close this out. I had a hidden partition (Disk had been encrypted at one time) I did a full wipe of the disk from terminal on an external connection. Did a full disk rebuild and created it fresh from Disk Utility. Reinstalled with fresh USB Catalina install drive, then ran all of the post install tasks. Everything worked well! The only odd thing is it took a couple restarts for WiFi and Bluetooth to come up (Broadcom chip). I think it is a quirk if the hardware.

Great work! Nice way of scripting everything too My apologies for the back and forth for the issue tickets.

Might you have an updated version of the Dell Precision 960 package that was done a number of years ago? I have one which specs out to a MacPro 3,1 which would handle Catalina quite well.
