conversation about the containers #2

I note the base gluster/glusterfs-client is 3 years old, do you think that matters. Also my initial reaction was the plugin container was a little large at 277MB. Also that base container only has x64 architecture

I am happy to try and contribute and: 1) look at size (It terms of size it maybe this is just is what it is) 2) see if there is reasonable approach to multi-arch (i would do this by shifting to debian as base container and installing glusterfs-client stable package)

I have done this before, i have a variety of simple approaches to multiarch and can either do it by client side scripts on the build machine or via github actions. Let me know if you are interested.

I would not object to a lightweight alternative. That image is just the official one I could find that had the gluster-fs client tooling built in.
