Problem with MySQL-Database? #42

I'm running Kodi (built 26.12.2014) and the latest Maximinimalism. All required addons are there and activates. No movies or tv series show up, though they are there when running Confluence. I'm using a MySQL-based media library, may be that's the reason?

Also: Does Maximinimalism support Live-TV?

Hi, Maximinimalism should handle MySQL setups without any problem. Have you recently upgraded to Kodi Helix? You might need to reimport your library to your MySQL server.

As for PVR, yep, full support.

Man, I cannot get this to work. When going up on the homescreen, to system details, it shows me that there are a couple hundred movies in the database, but when I press the video button on the home screen, screen is empty. I'd be happy to debug this with you, if you let me know what to do.

Just checking before we go any further - do you mean that the menu options for movies / tvshows are not showing in the video section? Or is it the recent items that aren't showing?

When pushing the left most button, the screen just goes blank.

Moved my .kodi dir to have a clean start. Reinstalled the advanced_settings.xml to have my mysql connection back and then installed the skin. Everything showed up properly then. But: When I start Live TV, the video section stays blank until I stop playback. May be that is what was leading to the impression of an empty library before.

How bizarre. Does Live TV still fail if you switch back to Confluence?

Switched back to my original .kodi dir. Can reproduce as assumed. Overview:

Have Live TV automatically start with Kodi
No Live TV icon on home screen, therefore I thought the skin may not support it
Switching to videos shows empty screen when Live TV is playing
Stopping Live TV reveals sidebar in video section, "Live-TV" included

I'd be a happy camper now if

the video section didn't stay empty while Live TV is playing (will confuse other users around)
I could access video information in add-ons such as Spiegel.TV, as I can in Confluence

Ah, that might help explain it. Maximinimalism isn't built the same as other skins (navigation structure etc), so stuff like starting live TV automatically probably won't work as expected. How did you go about setting live tv start automatically? Kodi options or advancedsettings?

BTW, info for spiegel online and other addons is there - hit 'i' on your keyboard or 'info' on your remote.

just let you both know that Maximinimalism & Helix are working PERFECT here with DVB Viewer as a PVR Backend. The only thing i am missing are "Videotext" and "EPG" Buttons on "videoosd" :-(
