Add <Files> to the main Video menu #45

I've just tried your skin on iOS and there's only one thing that disrupts a super-smooth experience: accessing Files.

I added one video source: my main/desktop xbmc over upnp, but it is damn hard to get to it via long touches.

Would be great to have it standalone (static), or the advanced(dynamic) way: allow files to be added as menushorcuts.

Hmm.. My skin wasn't really designed for touch-based interfaces, so i've little to offer you on this one i'm afraid. Files can be accessed via the left hand 'hidden' menu along with sorting options etc. Does swiping left in the video section show this menu for you?

You might be able to add files as a menu shortcut by creating first creating a smart playlist of the target directory. Adding menu items is also in the hidden side menu.

May be true, but it works wonders due to the minimalism (even in comparison with touch-intended ones)

Back to the topic - I know and I can actually access the Files - not by swipping, but by long-pressing a narrow zone between the left padding and the left menu. Problem is that "back" in this touch-based environment is a long-press too, so it's very easy to show the the hidden menu, and then immediately go "back" (i.e. to the Home window, not just hiding the hidden menu)

I didn't think of smart playlists - will give that a try. Thanks!

Even if that works, I still access Files rather often even on the desktop - at times Kodi doesn't detect TV episodes correctly. So I'd still keep the feature request of moving Files out of the hidden menu into the left menu valid.

No worries. Files will be back in the main menu for both music and video in the next update.

Nice. At this pace I will close down my fork
