dear chris,

parts of the skin displays content in "list view" and other parts in "thumb view" . is there any chance to add a "select view" to let the user select the layout?

I'm afraid not. The skin was deliberately designed to handle view layouts automatically (especially important for video addons etc). To allow a user to set view layouts themselves would involve a significant reworking of the skin.

to change the view for a specific addon (Youtube videos - http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=200391) - easy or difficult to change layout from list to grid?

Difficult. Note that a lot of these addons don't follow the same coding conventions, so i'd end up having to 'skin' each one. A recipe for pain if ever I saw one.

However, I'll make a note to see if I can't make the current list view better for music addons (longer titles, include thumbnails etc).

Poor boy ;-) take a fresh beer for the pain - does help! ... to finish this - I get more and more to the cognitive - that in the case of my "Crossbox" project - for the "normal user" it will be better to install pre-selected addons and adjusts the skin on this. by the way - I am missing just also generally a music-video hub in all the skins ...

Ha - beer always helps!

I understand where you are coming from. Perhaps if you let me know which addons you intend to preinstall, I can try to ensure that they are well supported. If some addons work better with a grid view, I can see what I can do to support it.

About music videos... This is not something I use much, so let me take a look at how they are handled.

regarding Musicvideos i see a difference between:

1.) Musicvideos (now mainly from the new Youtube Video Addon :-) who is sooo nice !!! I think ill make this addon as main section (music Video hub) on crossbox. Try out first Spotify Playlists :-) youll be surprised - promised.

and 2: Live Concerts (who can be from from youtube via Youtube Addon or local Library (ripped or recorded via PVR)
