Multiline notifications cannot be read #64

With the new YouTube add-on you get a notification to go to an URL to activate the add-on as application. However, Maximinimalism only shows the first line of that notification, so it said:

YouTube Add-On GO TO

It took my a while to figure out I had to go back to Confluence to become aware I actually had to go to youtube.com/activate, then read the two-line message with the activation code that needs to be entered to get YouTube working again. Maybe notification lines should be joined as a single lined and scrolled through in a notification.

Thanks for reporting. I've let the development slip a bit recently to concentrate on a new skin, but will get back to it when the next version of Kodi is released.

In this particular case, concatenating the lines probably won't do it. Part of the problem is that the time that the notification window stays visible is hard coded into Kodi. I've raised this with the developers. To be honest, the YouTube developer should not have used the notification system to convey such critical information when other options are available. Ah. The joys of open source!
