has anyone tried out maximinimalism with kodi 16? as per the beta release notes, it looks like all themes will need to be touched for compatibility

chrisbevan commented 8 years ago

Yeah, it'll suffer without some work to get it up to Kodi 16. I'll come back to it, but for the moment i'm concentrating on finalising my other skin Pellucid (have you tried it?)

No, I haven't. Will do! :) thanks

Hi Chris,

Is here any word on Maximinimalism on the latest Kodi? :) As, it has been five months since your last comment, I thought, maybe, something is already cooking :)

Edit: Also, is there any way we can help you with this?

Hi Monroo, thanks for getting in touch.

Maximinimalism's code base is increasingly out of date these days. I simply don't have time to develop and maintain two entirely separate skins. My plan longer term is to bring Pellucid up to the Krypton level, then fork / theme it to become Maximinimalism V2. In the short term, I plan to include the maximinimalism homescreen style and colours as a user option in Pellucid to get started on the conversion process. Pellucid and Maximinimalism share much of the same code base.

A great help to me would be folk debugging and testing Pellucid - https://github.com/chrisbevan/skin.pellucid.

I'm hoping the Kodi Krypton release will mark the end of the pretty major skinning engine overhaul we skinners have had to cope with in the last 18 months. All this work is ultimately to the good, but I won't lie - it's been a headache to keep up with sometimes!
