Kodi 21 "Omega" Update? #104

Open gratefulshag opened 7 months ago

I know Kodi 21 is still in Beta, but the most recent beta update (Beta 3) broke a lot of skins, Pellucid included. Is there a possibility of an update to have Pellucid function on Omega? I attempted to change the addon.xml to 5.17.0 but that didn't work. Would love to keep the skin I've been using for years. Thanks!

bumping xbmc.gui to 5.17.0 worked for me LibreElec, RPi 5

home screen menus are still non-configurable however

This repo hasn't had had a commit in 2 years, so it's unlikely that we will get an update now. Which is sad because IMO it's the best looking skin for Kodi by far. Maybe someone can fork it and take over development if the original owner is not interested anymore?

There seem to be 2 pretty recent forks, but I can't find if these are ports to Kodi 21, nor can I find a way to ask the dev if this is the case. The only thing changed seems to be the gui version number in addon.xml.

Dev here. Pellucid is still my daily driver, so it's not quite dead yet. However, I'm not currently running Kodi 21, and I update purely for my own use as I don't have any time to support the community as I once did.

The most up to date fork is 'directors cut' - the version I keep for my personal use. I run a plex library with Kodi on the frontend, so a whole bunch of redundant controls have been removed. It may not be capable enough these days for your setup so use at own risk.

Hey, I love you interface!

As I was looking for myself, this is instructions to use a supported fork.
