Allow the user to automate periodic running the programme in a terminal instance (i.e. without using launchctl)

The user should be able to specify

A period to run for e.g. an hour, 12 hours, a day
A specific number of runs e.g. 100 times
A default run frequency e.g. 300 seconds
A specific run frequency e.g. 100 seconds
It should warn if the frequency is under, say, 120 seconds
Periods under 30 seconds should need a confirmation, and warn of a risk of concurrent writes (unless a lock file logic has been implemented. See #9 .)
