I was talking about puzzle chooser icons in Android version 2022-04-30 (fdroid). I'm obviously using the night mode (didn't remember that quickly) and this makes the big diffenrence between old (version 2019-03-26) and new.
A dark background to most of these icons makes them quite 'unreadable'. An option to not use dark icon backgrounds even in night mode would be quite helpful.
