The new release will include an internal copy of the code instead of using wget
to download it from the web.

The new release is now available. Please switch to using Alien::SmokeQt, which
includes the necessary source code required for PerlQt to work.
A new release of PerlQt which loads the new Alien::SmokeQt module will be
available shortly. (It also includes about a year and a half of changes).

Hm, Qwt's presence is supposed to be detected by the smoke library's cmake
code... I'll take a look and see what the issue is.

Solved issue of comment#4; likely caused by bug in oneiric ubunut/debian
libqwt-dev package dependency information. Removal of the package (which was
installed before cpan was launched) brought 100% (c)make of Alienn::SmokeQt.
Lesson: just dont install libqwt-dev until its fixed in debian.
Yeah+Thx,
murat
