500 Can't connect to www.snort.org:443 (certificate verify failed) (1s)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.I am trying Pulled pork on OpenSuse Linux 12.1
2. I build Suse appliance using susestudio.com
3. when I install Pulled pork from source or Suse package, getting the above 
error ' certificate verify failed' appears.

the Perl packages on my system are :

Perl-Crypt-SSLeay, Perl-Encode-Locale Perl-File-Listing, Perl-HTML-Parser, 
Perl-HTML-Tagset,Perl-HTTP-Cookies, Perl-HTTP-Daemon, Perl-HTTP-Date, 
Perl-HTTP-Message, Perl-HTTP-Neogitate,Perl-IO-Socket-SSL, Perl-LWP-MediaTypes, 
Perl-LWP-Protocol-https, Perl-Net-HTTP, Perl-Net-SSLeay,Perl-Switch, Perl-UR, 
Perl-WWW-RobotRules, Perl-libwww-perl,

- My download of rules are NOT proceeding. The detailed error are:

        Error 500 when fetching https://www.snort.org/reg-rules/snortrules-snapshot-2931.tar.gz.md5 at /usr/bin/pulledpork.pl line 453

Please help
The snort version 2.9.3.1 and related snapshot rules, I am trying to download 
through pulledpork

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Please provide any additional information below.

I fixed the problem - by adding /installing 
- Update your trusted root certificates on your OS

Packages: ca-certificates-mozilla
