Switching between onboard speakers and headphones causes a bug in soundflower #17

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Set up soundflower: Soundflower (2ch) -> Built-In Output.
2. Change system default sound output device to Soundflower (2ch).
3. Observe that sound plays normally.
4. Either plug in the headphones or plug them out.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected: soundflower works normally. Actual: soundflower starts outputting
noise through the
speakers/headphones until I either restart it or click on “Soundflower (2ch)
-> Built-In Output”
again.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
OS X 10.5.6; MacBook Pro 4,1; Soundflower 1.4.4

I have this problem as well, it happens when switching between internal
speakers and
either an optical or analog connection.

I just had a similar problem. I did some screen capture with iShowU HD, and I
could ear a crackling sound on the
track. The sound seems to follow hard drive activity ie when some app is
writing the crackling intensifies and
clams down for a while...

The crackling sound is another issue -- see #24.

This issue appears to pertain only to SoundflowerBed, and Soundflower itself is
not the
problem (as confirmed by using Max/MSP instead of SoundflowerBed to funnel
output
back to the computer's hardware).

i recently installed Soundflower, and am having this same issue. i know it
says fixed, but i'm having this exact problem. i even tried uninstalling and
rebooting computer, and the issue remains. did this problem just disappear for
everyone but me, or is there a secret someone could share?

thank you

I am running into the same problem.
I will have to do this 2-3 times for a typical movie. If I do not quit and
restart soundflower bed, a loud distorted noise is emitted through the speakers.
I am running sound through hdmi on my hackintosh running 10.6.7 (the latest
update) The problem seems to have started occuring after I updated the OS from
10.6.5 (I beleive, not 100% sure of the previous version number)

I'm having the exact same issue. Loud crackling type noise coming out of
external speakers. Very annoying. I guess it's not fixed, eh?
