here from the homebridge collab team, was just checking if this plugin was really still maintained, or if not could it be transferred back to homebridge so we can maintain it as best we can?

Hi @bwp91 - the issue is not that this plug-in is, or is not, maintained. The Nest devices supported by the plug-in haven't changed for several years, and there isn't a lot / any maintenance needed.

The main gripe is expiring cookies for some people. This is not a 'maintenance' issue, it's a consequence of Google assigning short cookie lifetimes to some accounts. See #633.
