@chrisknepper It has been a week, can this get approved? I rely on this app, would love to get it back working again.

It's all back up and running now. I had to click "Sign Out" on the error screen, and then re-scan the bar code from my mobile device.

cheers, this worked. seems like a temporary solution, though—the app still displays a banner about the new address whilst logging in. it’s likely this too will break at some point

the url for the platform has changed to messages.google.com/web. the app has stopped functioning as a result
