This is happening for me with notifications on message received, either MMS or SMS. Began after disabling javascript in the default web browser. Windows 10 Pro x64, 1909 build 18363.815 Brave browser, version 1.8.95

Keeps happening to me as well.

Kandelai commented 4 years ago

Same happening on linux, every time someone sends a text, so related to the notification.

System: Manjaro KDE Stable Linux, Firefox 76.01

Same here. I'm working off of Windows 10, and the error pops up every time I receive a text.

Had same issue. Deleting settings seems to fix it. However it seems there is another fix without losing settings with these steps:

  1. exit messenger
  2. rename folder %appdata%\Android Messages to something else
  3. start messenger
  4. re-enable web messenger from the phone
  5. exit it again
  6. delete new %appdata%\Android Messages folder
  7. rename the original folder from step 2 back to it's original name
