There's one big sticking point using animation states in GBStudio right now: they don't show up in the scene view
I propose a feature where you can choose the animation state on a per-actor basis instead of only being able to use the Set Animation State event.
The important part is, this choice will show up in the scene, changing the displayed sprite to the chosen animation state
