Allright, there seems to be more.
I can use this OpenID plugin to authenicate on *another Wordpress blog* but not
much
elsewhere... In which case if I use my blog address sunshine.by - it just stops.
The output (where it should redirect to the site requesting OpenID) is 'This is
OpenID server. Nothing to see here.. Move along'
There is something wrong with the whole thing, I take it!

So am I alone with the problem or is there anything you can do about it?

I know that there are people that have the smae problem.
Anyway, I have referred to Hostgator.
Are there any server settings apart from 'nominal' that have to be present?

U-huh.
Well, Rafiki, just in case - have you seen any backtrack pings to your blog of
lately?
Even within your own blog?
I am online with the tech support (well, online is a bit of exaggerration) -
and need
as much information as possible. This culd be the key - they may not sove the
state of
the server, or accept any outside calls - or anything of the like. I do not
know, but
try to fix it. So? Any trackbak - of late?

Rafiki, I am sorry I did not answer straight away:
Solution is easy:
It appears that OpenID was triggering a mod_security rule set by the hosting
company.
Simple letter rto support solved mine.
However, the issue is ver yspecific and may not be recognised straight away by
the
support personnel, so I suggest you check here:

please report back here if it does indeed turn out to be a mod_security
conflict.

@cyrill kalita, CERTAINLY ... just tell me how to do it and you got it ... no,

this doesn't seem to be a mod_security issue. I have tried by disabling
mod_security
altogether and still no avail.
OpenID authentication failed: Invalid openid.mode ''
^^^ thats the error I get. Just in case.
If anyone know what else can be the cause and how to fix this would be greatly
appreciated. TIA

I'm also seeing this message when I try to use my site as an openid provider.
I've
tried uninstalling and reinstalling the plugins, clearing the OpenID cache,
deleting my
list of trusted sites etc. but I'm still getting the error message "This is an
OpenID
Server.
Nothing to see here… move along."
I'm on a server at Rackspace cloud (that I administer myself), running
Wordpress 2.9.2,
OpenID 3.3.2 and XRDS-Simple 1.0
