GreaseKit won't install Safari 4.0.3, Simbl 0.8.2 Mac OS 10.5.8 #38

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Installed Simbll and GreaseKit as per instructions. Verified the files are
present in the
appropriate directories: /Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins,
/Library/InputManagers/SIMBL
2. Also have Glims 1.b20, SafariAdBlock installed

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
GreaseKit menu item should appear, but it doesn't.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
GreaseKit 1.6, MacOs 10.5.8

From the console, here is the error message from Safari:

09/16/09 00:17:15 - 16/09/09 Console[632] Error loading /Library/Application
Support/SIMBL/Plugins/GreaseKit.bundle/Contents/MacOS/GreaseKit:
dlopen(/Library/Application
Support/SIMBL/Plugins/GreaseKit.bundle/Contents/MacOS/GreaseKit, 265): no
suitable image
found. Did find:
 /Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/GreaseKit.bundle/Contents/MacOS/GreaseKit:
unknown required load command 0x80000022

I've got the same error with Greasekit version 1.7 and Safari 4.0.3 on MacOS X
10.5.7.

I recompiled in 10.5.8 / Xcode 3.1.4, things works fine.

Thanks freewizard. I downloaded the recompiled version, but unfortunately still
doesn't install.

The console message I get is the same as above; apparently it is finding this
"unknown required load command
0x80000022.

Fwiw, I have Glims and SafariAds installed. I removed all other SIMBL plugins
(e.g. Stand).

I had the same problem, freewizard's version works though... cheers mate!

(Note I'm using a newer version of SIMBL)

OSX 10.5.8
Safari 4.0.3
SIMBL-0.9.6c

Still no luck. Installed SIML-0.9.6c (even though I'm running 10.5.8),
reinstalled freewizard's version, but I still
get the same error on the console, and GreaseKit doesn't load.
Very frustrating!

Hi, dschwabe,
I'm still using SIMBL-0.8.2.
0.9.6c seems never work for me under 10.5.8.

Hi freewizard,
either way, with SIMBL 0.8.2 and 0.9.6c, it doesn't work :-(... I'm thinking of
recompiling it in my machine just to
try it out and see what happens...

I'm also experiencing this issue. Tried reinstalling SIMBL 0.8.2 and GreaseKit
1.7. I'm also seeing a similar error
in the console for SafariStand 4.0SL170, another SIMBL plugin.

Other interesting information:

Mac OS X 10.5.8
Safari 4.0.3 (5531.9)
Google Gears installed (no version number on the
/Library/InputManagers/GearsEnabler/GearsEnabler.bundle, but dated 3/13/09)

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Just realized that my problem with SafariStand was that I was using 4.0SL170
(for Snow Leopard) rather than
4.0L168 (for Leopard).

Since I was seeing a nearly identical error message, maybe there's something
similar to whatever SafariStand
4.0SL170 has that requires Snow Leopard in GreaseKit 1.7?

It might be that 1.7 is compiled to work with the new 64bit SIMBL, and
therefore something broke in the 32bit
version?

Same issue, nothing at all has worked.

Same issue as the others..
safari 4.0.3
glims 1.0b23
leopard 10.5.8

i managed to compile greasekit locally explicitly for i386 architecture (after
dealing with an error where the
avriable VERSION was not found - i just hardcoded 1.7 to circumvent for now,
and also an error while trying to
copy a file named InfoPlist.strings, still compiling worked to far) and i was
able to get the GreaseKit menu
entry.

So maybe something with the compilations has gone wrong?

Safari version: 4.0.4 (5531.21.10)
SIMBL version: 0.8.2
GreaseKit version: 1.7

Safari 4.0.4, OS X 10.4.11

I tried the Greasekit from http://8-p.info/greasekit/ and did not get the
GreaseKit menu in Safari.

Downloaded the GreaseKit.bundle from freewiz (comment 7 above) and now I get
the menu.

Thanks.

This error is coming up on all my TUIO applications(processing, flash,
reactivision) when I try to export a bit of code. I've deleted all the SIMBL
and greasekit related files. I wish I never installed it!!
