Gatherer Downloader Unavailable

Gatherer Downloader has been pulled from the creator's website for what looks like abuse (and personal) reasons.

How much does not having this downloader impact functionality?

From the screenshots provided, it looks like the program just downloads a full-card image with square corners using the name [card_name].full.jpg for use by the card scanner.

I'm not able to get a card to recognize using the above method of putting a card image in the base directory with the name [card_name].full.jpg, so I wanted to ask. The card does seem to get hashed in data/set_cache though, so this might be my misusing of the card scanner, or a different bug.

Proposed solutions:

Provide an example of the formatting used in file and directory structures, so the image downloading can be performed manually or with another downloader.
Provide an existing binary of Gatherer Downloader, which I was not able to find (discouraged, as it is against creator's wishes)

Hmm, do you know if there is alternative piece of software to accomplish this? Maybe I could include a few sample images to get people off the ground. Like a land or something. What are your thoughts?
