More in-depth man page, updated readme #8

Carries the new sample from test.sh into the readme. Replaces much of the old placeholder manpage with contents of the readme for a much more in-depth man page. My groff outstanding so there might indeed be room for further improvement in the man page. These two points address issues #4 and #5.

Also aligns a small number of C++-style comments with the style used throughout the rest of the source.
