This won't work on the sidebar, since sections are scaled individually. The best I could do right now is add a legend next to each individual section. I'm already accomplishing the purpose of a legend with the information next to each section, but it's not particularly pretty.
I've thought about doing histograms on side (#35). That could act as a legend and provide a maybe useful alternate visualization of the data.
