The idea is to:

Democratize ownership of the results of crowd sourced endeavors by legally giving a fraction of ownership to the participants
Leverage crowd sourcing models to accelerate growth via computation or other shared resource allocations and or parallelization

Payment and ownership rights could be distributed via bitcoin or other crypto currency/ block chain contracts, e.g. ethereum
