Widgets appearing blank #1109

Describe the bug Widgets on IOS are showing up as blank grey spaces , sometimes there are slightly less grey lines where text should be appearing but it never does , this is true for every widget of every size

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to 'Home'
  2. Click on 'Add widget'
  3. Scroll down to 'Apollo' 4.Add widget 5.set up widget
  4. See error

iOS version: 14.1 Apollo version:1.10.4 iOS device: Iphone XS MAX Jailbroken: No Reproducible: Everytime

Expected behavior Widgets show up blank instead of the content which I set up to appear in them

I’m also experiencing this bug (12 Pro). In fact, even the non-Apollo widgets act up sometimes.

Issue existed on my iPhone X running all versions of iOS 14 (14, 14.0.1, 14.1, 14.2) and latest Apollo, regardless of what I did. Once I removed and reinstalled Apollo, widgets worked for about 5 minutes then became blank again.

Upgraded to a 12 Pro Max on 14.2, latest Apollo release, restored from an iCloud backup. Issue still persists. Widgets are broken. Signed in to Apollo with 4 accounts and have Pro+Ultra. This is ongoing since Apollo supported widgets.

Note that no other widgets (first or third party) have any issues.

Similar issue for me as well.

Describe the bug Medium Multiple Posts Widget on iOS is blank for me on my new iPhone 12 Pro. The background color is correct based on my system light/dark mode setting, and I can see the spots with gray bars where the text should appear. Tapping the Apollo icon opens the app as expected, but the posts only show the gray bars mimicking the text for the title of the posts. The issue does not happen on my iPhone 11 Pro. Removing and reinstalling the app does not resolve the problem. Changing the post feed does not resolve the issue.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1 - Go to 'Home' 2 - Click on 'Add widget' 3 - Scroll down to 'Apollo' 4 - Add ‘Multiple Posts Widget’ to any homepage

Original iPhone Details (No Issue) iOS version: 14.2 (18B92) Apollo version: 1.10.5 iOS device: iPhone 11 Pro (MWCM2LL/A) Jailbroken: No Reproducible: Never

New iPhone Details (Continuous Issue) iOS Version: 14.2.1 (18B121) Apollo Version: 1.10.5 iOS Device: iPhone 12 Pro (MGJM3LL/A) Jailbroken: No Reproducible: Continuous

Expected Behavior Widget should show two posts that refresh periodically throughout the day. Original iPhone produces expected behavior. New iPhone displays bug continuously.

I am having the same issue. I wonder if it is special characters in the sub Reddit. Mine seems to be related to an underscored the subreddit name

Same for me with the wallpaper widget on iOS 14.4.2 and Apollo 1.10.8. The widget is set to custom subreddits but has suddenly started showing up blank. When I tap it, I’m taken to a post in /r/jokes, which isn’t on the list of subreddits I’ve configured. The post doesn’t have an image, which is presumably why the widget is blank.

ISTR the default widget uses /r/jokes, so could Apollo be ignoring user settings and using the default here, even when it makes no sense?
