Position in app not being “saved” #1173

When I’m scrolling and then leave the app to, for example, read my email, or turn off my iPad, and then return to the app, I’m not taken back to where I left off, but some way back and have to scroll to retune to where I was. I hope this description is clear. Thanks.

I have this same issue when using Apollo on the iPad in portrait mode. It is quite annoying and I would love to see this on addressed.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open Apollo on iPad and view r/all in portrait view.
  2. Scroll down about 50 posts or so.
  3. Note the post you are viewing.
  4. Hit the power button on your iPad to turn the screen off.
  5. Tap on the iPad screen and log into the iPad.
  6. Apollo will show but you will see that you are not on the same post that you were on when you locked the iPad.
  7. You will see that you are seeing posts that you have already seen.
  8. Scroll down about five or six posts and you should now be at the post you were at when you went to lock your iPad.

I am on an 11 iPad Pro 2018. I do not normally use my iPad in landscape mode so I have not tested the same scenario in landscape mode.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you.

I’ve been having this issue as well. I have short-term memory issues and it makes the app practically unusable for me, hoping this is addressed soon :(

Same here. This has been happening for quite a long time, I started experiencing this back in October when I first got my current iPad.

Same here. Interestingly, this doesn’t happen in my Home view. Happens in Popular and All. Every iOS version, every iPad. I should add that the resulting position moves back farther the longer you are “away” from the app.
