Autoplay GIFs/Videos: Always —> Not working without WiFi #1471

Describe the bug In Apollo: Settings > General, after changing ‘Autoplay GIFs/Videos’ from ‘Always’ to ‘Never,’ then back to ‘Always,’ GIFs and Videos will now only autoplay when connected to WiFi, and won’t play at all when disconnected from WiFi, using only LTE/5G Data connection.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Click on 'Autoplay GIFs/Videos'
  3. Set to ‘Never,’ then back to ‘Always’
  4. Disconnect from WiFi, then try to browse Home
  5. GIFs and Videos will not only no longer Autoplay, they will not play at all even when tapped on (until WiFi connection is re-established)

iOS version: 15.0 Apollo version: 1.11.2 ULTRA+PRO Enabled iOS device: iPhone 12 Pro Max Jailbroken: No Reproducible: Every single time, mainly in Home feed (but when in a specific subreddit like r/GIFs, they won’t Autoplay but will load once tapped, so it seems to be specific to the Home feed? Or maybe just certain GIF/Video formats?)

Expected behavior I except the video to start playing as soon as I scroll to it, whether I’m on WiFi or Data

Additional context I first noticed this bug before updating to iOS 15, but don’t remember the exact version of iOS 14 I had before. ALSO NOTE: When set to ‘WiFi Only’ GIFs and Videos will not Autoplay while on Data but they will still play once tapped on, whereas they won’t play at all when set to ‘Always’ while on Data.

Same issue. Auto play on always and on cellular: Doesn’t play videos or gifs at all when on cellular data. Only way to get it to play is tapping the thumbnail from the subreddit list and loading the video or gif in the separate player that opens up. If you tap the video from the post, it loads a black screen. The auto play sound icon moves but no video is playing. Auto play on WiFi only while on cellular: will play if tapped from the post, but not if tapped from the subreddit list. Auto play on never and on cellular: plays when tapped from either subreddit list or post.
