Hi there,

Oh my goodness, I nearly fell off my chair when I saw this plugin in the community plugins list. Thank you so much for creating this. There are many Obsidian users who rely on tags and this plugin will be a real game-changer for all of them.

Everything you've created here is incredible; there's just one thing you could add to make it perfect for my workflow. I read academic articles on my Kindle, highlight quotes, add a few tags to each quote, and then import my notes into Obsidian with a new file/note for each article. I often have many quotes taken from a given article, all with specific tags for each quote. When I use your plugin, it shows me files with any tags I specify, but to be truly useful, I need to be able to filter the tags by line. I can do this in Obsidian search by searching for "line:(#tag1 #tag2)" and that then shows me any file with those two tags on the same line.

If there's any way to implement this option in your plugin I would be eternally grateful. I actually think I would cry - it's been years of waiting for the ability to filter tags (like you can in other apps) and your plugin gets me so close to the finishing line.

Even if you can't achieve this, well done for creating a wonderful plugin.

Hey, Thanks for your feedback, I'm glad you like it! Being able to search for tags on the same line is something I haven't actually considered before, but I can clearly see the benefit of such a possibility. I have plans to add a section with slightly more advanced settings, and there could possibly be a place for such a setting. But then I think maybe a slightly simpler variant than Obsidian's search function; that you can simply toggle whether the search should require all tags in the filtering to be on the same line.

Thanks for your response! Either option (having an advanced settings pane or just toggling to search by line rather than file) would probably make Obsidian twice as useful for me and anyone else out there using tags in this kind of way. I'm a university academic and have taken notes with tags on lines for around 500 academic articles and chapters, so being able to filter tags by lines would allow me to have a conversation with my vault for the first time (as in, discovering connections and ideas when I need them for my writing). I've asked the Obsidian developers several times to do something like this and had basically given up on the idea. If you can make this happen I would gladly give you a donation if you have one of those 'buy me a coffee' links on your plugin page on Obsidian. Keep up the awesome work and thanks again for your engagement with the community.
